hello, world!

new year, new blog!

due to immense pressure by tumblr user mothcub/blogspot user lilly ashton (aka a single post), we now have a blogspot. unlike our other shared blog and social media, though, this one doesn't use our professional url! (our dreamwidth blog does, and if you're interested in good information on plurality, go there, we do our best.)

the challenge is to blog every day, and we're going to give it our best shot! at least i (crow&) am. riley's been ringleading the mp3 resurgence, we've started listening to CDs, now it's time to go all the way and blog like it's... what year were blogs a thing? was 1999 right?

today we are finally sitting up after a couple days bedbound by our shitty ass spine. [redacted] used that time to work on his website and listen to nine inch nails CDs, i used that time to do fanart of my most special favorite guy no one's ever heard of, and now... blog!

we're not going deep with the introductions, but as an alphabetical flyover:

  • the safety pins (plural they, that's all of us) - sociology majors, artists, zinesters, transsexual & red menace 
  • crow& (fey/feyr, it/its, she/her - me!) - TW's "pathologically adorable" twin, bleedingheart punk, and polyhobbyist
  • monday (he/him) - guy who doesn't want to be here
  • riley (pog/pogs, they/them, anything but it) - horrible little emo, scene kid, cringe revival 2006
  • TW (vae/vaer, xe/xem/xyr, ze/zir) - crow&'s twin, the scary sociopath pop psychologists warned you about

that's about what i've got. and we'll do our best at blogging every day, i swear to you all

Not Much to Say, But Saying It Anyway

 Day two of the blog. Go, team! Today was an “everyone has something to do” day, and they sure did it. Crow& wrote fanfiction never to see the light of day, Monday took five hours to hang out with his singular friend, and Riley closed out by watching The Amazing Digital Circus (which is to say, they’re going to do that right after this entry is posted). We’ve been having a lot of trouble having a sleep schedule that isn’t utterly insanely fucked, so today we’re giving going to bed at 3AM (our regular bedtime) a shot. There isn’t really anything to give commentary on. Or, more accurately, Crow& wants to write commentary on The Real Will Wood, a concert film mockumentary, but is way too tired to do it right now. Tomorrow we run our monthly meet up for plural people in DC, Maryland, and Virginia. Depending how it goes, we might post about that. Or if no one’s there (people often aren’t around the holidays), that’ll be time to write commentary on the postmodernist dark cabaret ...

multi bechdel test, or an unsolicited unskippable moon knight cutscene poorly adapted from crow&'s tumblr blog

  Recently, multi author and beloved mutual Rogan Lee made a post on Dreamwidth about a Multi Bechdel Test —basically, do two plural characters talk to each other in this piece of media at all? There were, unsurprisingly, very few examples, and one that got mentioned was Moon Knight and Sentry interacting once. (This is a barely adapted version of my original comment/ post on Tumblr , and also nerd shit, which is why I’ve suddenly discovered sentence case.) But actually, Moon Knight has a more recent example—several of them—and they’re also much better moments! If you’ve been following the MacKay run, or talked to me for more than five minutes, you might already know what I’m talking about.
